Somerset Showcase Recap

The Bedford girls kicked off their 2010 campaign at the Somerset Showcase tournament. The girls put together a strong showing by defeating Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Richland. They finished group play in a 3-way tie for first place. Richland broke the tie with the highest goal differential which left Bedford and Forest Hills to play a 10 minute golden goal match to decide who would take the final playoff position. Bedford fell to Forest Hills.

Overall, we had a very successful day with our only group play lose coming in a close first game against Forest Hills. Bedford capped group play by defeating Richland 2-1 in an intense, highly competitive match. The girls showed a tremendous amount of grit and determination in their final 3 games.

Richland went on the win the tournament, only losing 1 game all day and only giving up 2 goals in group play. Good work Bedford girls!
